UPM inventors, scientists dominate 6th IDI Awards

On 7 May 2021, several professors, and medical professionals from the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) are awarded during the 6th Invention Disclosure Incentive (IDI) Awarding Ceremony held by the University of the Philippines Systems Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (UPS-TTBDO). A total of nine (9) awardees are from UPM which includes four (4) disclosures from collaborations with University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD).

Technologies assisted by the University of the Philippines Manila – Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (UPM-TTBDO) are: Re-Vision, CFI Marker for Leptospirosis Prognosis, Philippine Carrageenan Lyophilized Wafer, Natural Product for HIV Treatment, Ergonomic Surgical Rongeur, Continuous Passive Motion Device for Hinged Elbow Ilizarov Fixator (UPM and UPD), MyBESHIE (UPM and UPD), Prone Pillow for Pregnant and Plus-sized Patients (UPM and UPD), and Herbal Mosquito Repellant (UPM and UPD).

With the IDI, the University hopes to encourage early disclosure of innovations, reward the diligence of inventors through the patenting and technology transfer process, and enlarge and enhance its intellectual property portfolio. To know more about IDI, please visit this link. (MMViñas)
