MyBESHIE enables a person who is physically present in one location to mimic some of the aspects of being present at another physically remote location. Interactive telepresence systems have promise in the field of medicine, since they could enable a medical specialist to treat patients in a variety of physical locations, without risking the patient’s health, or wasting the specialist’s valuable time, with the delays associated with travel between locations.
MyBESHIE Robot is one of the efforts under the Surgical Innovation and Biotechnology Laboratory (SIBOL), a program that involves collaboration with engineers and scientists from UP Diliman.

Interviews with relevant institutions have been conducted and revealed that the market for MyBESHIE is adequately solid, and the innovation is meritorious.
Second prototype developed for ﬁeld test, and currently working on 8 optimized units. Target features: Improved navigation, simpler control, modularity to include sensors, and portability.
